An evening filled with Beethoven and highlights: As part of the Martha Argerich Festival, an extraordinary ensemble of artists will gather at the Laeiszhalle for a celebration of chamber music.
The program opens with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Quintet in E-flat Major—a sparkling dialogue between piano and winds, performed by Lilya Zilberstein and members of the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra.
After the intermission, Beethoven’s lyrical side unfolds: Together with Maxim Vengerov, Argerich brings the famous »Spring Sonata« and the cheerfully radiant A Major Sonata to life in brilliant colors.
Virtuosity, depth, and musical highlights—an evening that celebrates not only Beethoven in all his facets.

Due to Mikhail Pletnev’s withdrawal from the »Flügelschlag« concert on 25 June, also part of the Martha Argerich Festival, there will be changes to the line-up and programme for the first half of this concert. Ludwig van Beethoven’s Great Fugue with Martha Argerich and Stephen Kovacevich has been omitted from this concert; instead, Lilya Zilberstein, among others, will perform a selection from Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Préludes, Op. 32. Tickets already purchased remain valid.
