Bistrot Vienna

Charming. French cuisine.

The new queuing trend has reached Hamburg. In front of the popular "Bistro Vienna", people are happily willing to "queue". They are waiting for Portuguese and Italian delicacies as well as traditional German dishes and Austrian classics.

A dinner at Bistrot Vienna automatically turns into an experience as soon as you get there – you better be quick since you can’t make a reservation at the charming Bistro at Fettstraße. And in fact, people are rolling in at around 5 pm already and start drinking an aperitif outside or inside until the kitchen opens at 7.

A lively feel-good location

In no time, the little place is becoming a lively feel-good location. Every evening long-time customers, hipsters, gourmets and individual tourists are coming together. At the entry, a perfectly equipped bar is waiting for its customers with an impressive wine selection. Behind the bar lies the little guest area with only ten tables.

Red and white checkered table clothes and the intimate candle light atmosphere make the time fly by.  You shouldn’t be too claustrophobic since the persons next to you are so close that it gets quite cozy – yet, this is what the character of Bistrot Vienna is like.

Handwritten menu, that is changing every Saturday

A glance into the handwritten menu, that is changing every Saturday, is convincing everyone. They serve homemade lamb fried sausage with chickpeas and Pimientos, warm asparagus salad with fresh goat cheese terrine and smoked salmon or roasted calf in mushroom sauce on leaf spinach with ricotta ravioli. All dishes will melt in your mouth but our secret tip on the menu is definitely the Wiener Schnitzel, that comes with cucumber- and potato salad. This dish gets to the heart of the excellent cuisine and overall quality of the restaurant.

CITY AREA PORTRAIT Eimsbüttel & Eppendorf

Here, one can find magnificent old building façades, local and exquisite restaurants as well as fancy boutiques and owner-operated shops. While Eppendorf is rather fancy, one can feel the hanseatic serenity in Eimsbüttel. Both districts offer much green and water and are hence with good reason very popular neighbourhoods in Hamburg.
