Hochseekutter Landrath Küster

The deep-sea cutter Landrath Küster is a real veteran among the fishing vessels on the Elbe.

Built in 1889, the deep-sea cutter was used for 81 years for fishing along the Elbe. This makes the Landrath Küster the longest fishing vessel on the Elbe. After the cutter had become obsolete, it has been receiving guests on board as a traditional ship since 1997. The crew still consists of fishermen from Finkenwerder, who make the traditional life on board understandable for you.

CITY AREA PORTRAIT Hamburg South

Around Harburg's inland harbour, historical and modern architectural styles merge. It's maybe even a bit like HafenCity. Finkenwerder, on the other hand, has the charm of a fishing village. – Here, you see a quite different, almost rural side of Hamburg. Harburg and Finkenwerder are also good starting points for discovering the Hamburg metropolitan area.

Outstanding German civil engineering Alter Elbtunnel

When the old Elbe Tunnel, also called St. Pauli Elbe Tunnel, opened in 1911, it was a technical sensation. Today, it is a nostalgic and lovingly tended piece of Hamburg history – and has already celebrated its 100th anniversary.

St. Petri

Hamburg's oldest existing church is located directly in the current shopping district on Mönckebergstrasse, and it is named after the apostle and martyr Peter, who is depicted with a key as the "gatekeeper of heaven".
