The Hirschpark in Hamburg is a green oasis, and "deer park" is exactly what it is: Reindeer and fallow deer live in the game reserve.
A very recommended excursion in Hamburg is the Hirschpark (Deer Park), created in 1620. You find century-old trees here that lend the park an impressive backdrop. Some of the trees can also be climbed. Equally impressive is the avenue of lime trees, some of which go in four aisles through the park. However, the undisputed highlight of the park is the deer preserve that has given its name to the park and in which fallow deer, peacocks and waterfowl are at home. Due to its close location to the west of Hamburg's city centre, the park is easy to reach; the Hamburg Hochkamp S-Bahn Station is in the immediate vicinity of the park entrance. The park is also located directly on the banks of the Elbe, which gives it an additional idyllic touch.
