Born in Moscow in 2005, pianist Vsevolod Zavidov is regarded as one of the most promising young talents to emerge from Russia’s long-established school of piano. Hailed as a child prodigy from an early age, Zavidov made his debut in the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow at the age of eight. Two years later, he made his debut at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York. Concert tours in Russia, Europe, North America and Japan followed.

At the Laeiszhalle, Zavidov performs, among other works, Franz Schubert’s Four Impromptus, which pianist Alfred Brendel described as »music in which melancholy and consolation meet inseparably«. The evening concludes with »Three Movements from Petrushka«, Igor Stravinsky’s virtuosic piano arrangement (1921) from his ballet of the same name, dedicated to Arthur Rubinstein.
