NDR Jazzworkshop: Antônio Carlos Jobim 100 – The Boy from Ipanema Jazz, Blues, Swing & Chanson

For the NDR Jazz Workshop marking his 100th birthday, this concert delves into Antônio Carlos Jobim’s biography and the history of bossa nova. An international band has been formed especially for the workshop, centred around pianist Florian Weber. To this end, the NDR has invited guests from Brazil, including bassist Guto Wirtti and percussionist Kiko Freitas, who have formed the rhythm section of the legendary João Bosco for many years. They pay tribute to Antônio Carlos Jobim and bring his classics into the present day.
