The EU-LAC Foundation, in collaboration with the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, invites you to the festive opening concert of the 2026 Latin America and Caribbean Autumn Festival. The festival aims to serve as a cultural bridge between Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.
The concert takes the audience on a musical journey through the diverse soundscapes of Latin America. Leading artists from several countries across the continent come together in a programme that blends classical music, folk music, jazz and popular traditions. Works by Heitor Villa-Lobos, Alberto Ginastera, Carlos Gardel, Chabuca Granda and Paquito D’Rivera are juxtaposed with traditional music from Venezuela and Paraguay, as well as the timeless art of Johann Sebastian Bach.
The result is a multifaceted panorama of musical cultures that speaks of shared roots, vibrant exchange and great stylistic diversity. The concert exemplifies the dialogue between the regions and the cultural diversity that the Latin America and Caribbean Autumn Festival brings to Hamburg every year. As the festival’s festive opening event, this evening sends a musical message of encounter, understanding and the close ties between Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.
