With »aurora«, the Ensemble Resonanz focuses precisely on moments like these. They are fleeting, yet their presence lingers for a long time. Delicate yet powerful, they permeate the space, flaring up, intensifying, leaving their mark. As part of the »Elbphilharmonie Visions« festival, the programme features a new work by Rebecca Saunders, one of the defining voices of contemporary music. A commission by Ensemble Resonanz, which had its world premiere shortly before at the Donaueschingen Music Festival. Together with Peter Eötvös’s »Aurora« and Sergei Prokofiev’s »Visions fugitives«, the programme creates an experience that does not capture sound, but rather makes its emergence audible.
