Every note in this music is a call to go out and enjoy nature. However, we recommend you stay inside our beautiful concert hall for this performance of Beethoven’s »Pastoral« Symphony. After a long break, the Berlin Philharmonic is finally returning to Hamburg with its chief conductor Kirill Petrenko to play a concert as part of the Beethoven anniversary celebrations in 2027. It is a rare opportunity to hear this symphonic portrayal of nature, which includes the sounds of a stream and a thunderstorm, performed with such a rich sound and clear detail. In the first half, Berlin’s outstanding orchestra will be joined by Leif Ove Andsnes at the piano for Edward Grieg’s atmospheric Piano Concerto in A minor. As a fellow Norwegian, Andsnes is the perfect choice as a soloist. Like Grieg, he has helped to firmly establish Norwegian music in the world of classical music.
