Panik City

The Udo Lindenberg Experience

Amazing. To join in. To touch. Panik City is infotainment with music, technology and Udo Lindenberg! Already more than 65,000 visitors enthusiastically report on the unique multimedia experience of the life of the German star! The outstanding success was confirmed in 2019 with the 3rd place of the ADAC tourism award.

Multimedia experience on Hamburg’s Reeperbahn

Panik City is an interactive exhibition located in the Klubhaus St. Pauli, dedicated to the life and work of Udo Lindenberg. Right on Hamburg’s famous Reeperbahn, it merges art, music and technology into a cohesive multimedia experience. Visitors enter an immersive world that connects biography, social context and creative expression.

A walk through musical legacy and contemporary history

Spanning 700 square metres, a guided tour leads through various interactive installations. Virtual reality, 360° video projections, touchscreens, soundscapes and visual effects offer vivid insights into music, art and attitude. Highlights include a digitally simulated stage performance, an interactive painting station in Lindenberg’s “Likörelle” style, and a virtual studio to record personal tracks. The tour is not only informative but also participatory.

Personal narrative meets cultural relevance

Beyond the artistic journey, Panik City addresses social and political issues that influenced Lindenberg’s work. The exhibition explores topics such as freedom of expression, German-German history and the role of art in public discourse — offering a multidimensional perspective beyond celebrity storytelling.

Designed for diverse audiences

The concept is suitable for a wide range of audiences: cultural tourists, music lovers, families with teenagers, groups and solo visitors. It provides an indoor activity that combines entertainment and education in a contemporary format. Limited group sizes ensure an intimate experience, while the modular structure encourages individual exploration.

Accessibility and inclusion as guiding principles

Panik City is fully accessible. Elevators, level entry points and wide corridors ensure a smooth experience for visitors with mobility needs. The venue stands for openness and inclusion; diversity and respect are central to its mission.
