Emanuel Blumin-Sint believes that the bassoon stands in the spotlight as a solo instrument far too rarely – and he wants to change that. The bassoonist holds a scholarship from the German Music Foundation and is the winner of several prizes, among them the Fanny Mendelssohn Sponsorship Award. This award enabled him to record his first solo album, which showcases all the facets of his instrument. Emanuel Blumin-Sint is accompanied at the Laeiszhalle by accordionist Pavel Efremov. Together they demonstrate how good their unusual combination of instruments sounds, whether they are playing Baroque or 20th century music.
