QUEERHISTORYMONTH
QueerHistoryMonth will take place in Hamburg from May 1st to 31st, 2026 (www.queerhistoryhamburg.de). Various events within the festival will bring the history (and stories) of the queer community in Hamburg to life. Everyone is welcome – Kings, Quings, Queens, Allies, Friends, (chosen) Families, and everyone in between and beyond!
Event
As part of a queer culture of remembrance, in this writing workshop we want to explore writing about one's own experiences.
Queer lived experiences are often marginalized by historical accounts and archives, or not even recorded at all. Together, we want to try to put our own experiences into words and preserve memories. In this workshop, we will explore our personal stories as part of a queer culture of remembrance and attempt to document some of them.
Through creative and autobiographical writing exercises, we will explore our own themes. In a safe space, we will write together, read texts, and discuss them. You can write in the language you feel comfortable with. No prior knowledge is necessary. Queer only.
