The programme centres on Ludwig van Beethoven’s virtuosic »Triple Concerto« for piano, violin and cello – his only concerto that combines three solo instruments. The work was considered extremely innovative at the time, as it brings together the three solo parts in equal roles, creating an impressive interplay between the solos and the orchestral sound. The solo parts are performed by the Amelio Trio, which was named ECHO Rising Star for the 2026/27 season.

The programme is complemented by Symphony No. 4 by Johannes Brahms, who repeatedly engaged with Beethoven in his symphonic works and continued his legacy. The composition is characterised by a dense, complex structure and emotional drama, which is particularly evident in the powerful finale.

The audience can look forward to a fascinating and lively evening that combines a top-class chamber music ensemble, a dedicated university orchestra and important works of classical music.
