The evening begins with excerpts from Olivier Messiaen’s epoch-making »Quartuor pour la fin tu temps«, which premiered almost exactly 85 years ago, on 15 January 1941, in front of prisoners of war at the Stalag prison camp in Görlitz. Performed by musicians from the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra and Florian Weber on piano. Afterwards, Tim Hagans explores the dimensions of synesthesia with the NDR Big Band.
