MASTERPLAN was founded in 2002 by Roland Grapow and Uli Kusch, who had both just left Helloween. This new band quickly became a force to be reckoned with: Their debut album, "Masterplan," caused a sensation in the scene in early 2003. Four highly acclaimed studio albums followed over the next ten years.

When MASTERPLAN was founded in 2002, the band quickly became known as the melodic metal sensation.
Former Helloween members Roland Grapow and Uli Kusch immediately joined forces with the first-rate singer Jorn Lande, and completed this mix with Axel Mackenrott (keyboards) and bassist Jan S. Eckert. A supergroup was born.

The debut album "Masterplan" was a huge success in 2003. The band celebrated their first chart success across Europe and quickly built a massive, worldwide fanbase. This was followed by a European tour with Hammerfall. The second album, "Aeronautics," was released in January 2005 and continued this success. Masterplan played their first headlining shows as part of the "Flying Aces Tour." However, changes were on the horizon for their third album, "MK II" (2007), when singer Lande and drummer Kusch left the band.

In 2024, the band returned and toured Europe with FIREWIND. It was their first indoor tour in 10 years, and they presented the new single "Rise Again" from their highly anticipated new studio album "Metalmorphosis," which will be released in January 2026 (Frontiers). The first video single will be released in November 2025.
