During the two-day weekend workshop »Kreativ BeatObsession«, participants collect discarded objects in the vicinity of the Elbphilharmonie with the support of the Hamburg-based start-up OCLEAN and use them to develop their own instruments. With a great deal of creativity and a willingness to experiment, they tap, drum and build until the found objects become unique musical instruments. The result is an installation that is played with rhythm – by the participants themselves, but also with electronic tools that are introduced in the workshop.
The workshop runs from 10:00 to 16:30. On Saturday, the focus is on upcycling the found objects into instruments, while on Sunday, creative ways of assembling and playing these instruments are developed. Children can participate with or without an accompanying adult. An accompanying adult also requires a ticket. Supervision is provided on site during the lunch break. Each child should bring their own food for the break.
