Huffduff Abschiedskonzert mit Neopit Pilski + DJ Raspe Concerts

  • Hafenklang

The Hamburg band Huffduff is saying goodbye after eleven years of band history – with one last single and one final concert. That's something to take in. Because what Herr Fust (drums), Etaoin Shrdlu (guitar), Piggy Büchse (bass), and election worker R. (vocals) have brought to the stage over a decade leaves a noticeable hole in Hamburg guitar music.
Huffduff are never unequivocal. Their sound and stage shows demand a tolerance for ambiguity: driving and stoic on the one hand, unpredictably delicate and outlandish on the other. What sounds like the endurance of contradictions is in fact a Gesamtkunstwerk that filters and remixes the best of noise rock, post-punk, and experimental sound collages.
Ten years have passed since their first concert in June 2015 (back then with Steve Albino on guitar) – for better or worse, it's time for a loud, beautiful, sad goodbye. Come along and experience Huffduff one last time!

TV Hören und Sehen: “Huffduff sounds like wounded deer dragging itself through the forest—but cheerful and fidgety!”
Journal of Psychology: “It always smells like fried bacon when they play live.”
Geological Yearbook: “Subtle and funny.”

Neopit Pilski (HH/LG) is a play on Bulgarian words. Searching for a deeper meaning behind it would be futile. Their commitment to North American music is rooted in their old-school preferences between NYC, DC, Boston, Louisville, Chicago, and the Pacific Northwest of the 1980s and 90s. "Gently dissonant guitar music" has become a common self-description over the years. Since they recently returned from duo to trio format, this positive impression has been further solidified among the members represented here.
