What? 20 years since the first Hellsongs shows?
It feels crazy, but it's true: In 2004, we played for the first time in a small barn just outside of Gothenburg. Back then, "Dragostea din tei" was the biggest summer hit, and fascists weren't yet a political problem.
That feels like yesterday, and at the same time, like a distant utopian dream. We called our last album (2013) "These Are Evil Times" and thought we'd hit rock bottom. We definitely ran out of steam for a while. But now, after a few years, we once again feel like the center of a happy mood center.
Suddenly, we're back with a new album and a deep longing for live shows and a tour. We're not only older, but also much meaner. As if that weren't enough, a new album is coming. "The Return of the Hellsingers" will be released in October – new and old songs about love, less hate, and much more solidarity. We're looking forward to singing, dancing, and, above all, smiling more with all of you again.
