Bohemian Hopsody kicks off Hamburg Beer Week 2025
From harborfronts to backyards – brewing culture in Hamburg has a long history: rough, warm-hearted, and rooted in the neighborhood. That very spirit returns in 2025 as Hamburg Beer Week hits the stage once again – a week full of flavor, connection, and stories. Breweries, bars, and beer lovers come together to show what beer truly means to this city: more than just a drink. It’s identity. It’s home.
6 years of Hamburg Beer Week!
From August 28 to September 7, 2025, Hamburg once again transforms into a showcase for craft brewing, regional cuisine, and living beer culture. Across 20+ locations – from the Elbe waterfront to the backstreets of Altona, St. Pauli, and Wilhelmsburg – the city’s brewing community will show what makes Hamburg’s beer scene so special.
In 2025, the focus once again lies on connecting urban and rural: the Ministry for Environment, Climate, Energy and Agriculture (BUKEA) supports Hamburg Beer Week to promote regional value creation, product quality, and direct sourcing of local ingredients. This collaboration brings new momentum to the relationship between agriculture, gastronomy, and brewing in the metropolitan region.
Program Highlights 2025
Collaboration Brew: Bohemian Hopsody
Once again – and still one of a kind worldwide: In 2025, Hamburg’s breweries have joined forces to create a collaborative beer – this time a Bohemian-style lager. Each brewery contributed its own hops and water. The result: a naturally cloudy, easy-drinking lager with delicate fruity notes. Available from July in retail – and freshly tapped at all participating breweries.
28.08. – Brewers Boat Cruise | Landungsbrücken
The traditional opening cruise features all participating brewers and their favorite beers aboard a harbor tour through Hamburg. Live commentary shares stories behind the beers, recipes, and six years of HHBW.
05.09. – Bohemian Beer Boat Cruise | Landungsbrücken
This second boat cruise is all about Czech beer. Selected breweries from the Czech Republic will present their brews on board – freshly tapped and accompanied by fascinating insights into the country’s unique brewing history.
05.09. – Beer, Beats & Bites | Bunker by Reverb
In the historic air raid bunker at Heiligengeistfeld, Hamburg’s breweries meet DJ sets, regional chefs, and local producers. The full line-up will be announced in mid-August.
27 & 28.09. – eat&style | Großmarkt Hamburg
Even after the festival week, things stay fresh: At Hamburg’s largest food trend festival, HHBW will host a joint stand featuring exclusive pairings – with Hamburg breweries teaming up with regional farmers and chefs.
