When his first solo album was released, Chris Thile was just 13 years old. Since then, he has effortlessly defended his reputation as the coolest mandolin player under the sun. Whether it’s bluegrass, jazz or classical music: Thile can do it all, and he performs with such disarming ease and virtuosity that even music lovers familiar with outstanding playing are regularly left speechless. He has already appeared three times at the Elbphilharmonie – solo in 2017 and 2022, and with the Punch Brothers in 2018 – and each time the audience gave him a standing ovation.
