Duet or duel? Friend or foe? Without a doubt, acclaimed opera singer Cecilia Bartoli and world-class pianist Lang Lang each rank amongst the best virtuoso musicians in their respective fields. In their wildest dreams, they probably never thought they would be on stage together for an entire tour. They first met in 2008 when Lang Lang performed at a gala concert organised by Cecilia Bartoli to honour the 200th anniversary of the death of the famous opera singer Maria Malibran. Bartoli invited many illustrious colleagues to join her including Lang Lang and the pair got on like a house on fire. Both have the same energy and a shared passion for creating delicate colours and sensitive shades in their music. They also share a playful rivalry and love to joust with their virtuosity in an entertaining musical showdown. What began as an idea in 2008 will finally become a reality as these two iconic personalities resume their cooperation at a sensational and rare recital.
