Fibres are everywhere – in our clothing, in furniture, and even in high-tech materials. But which fibres are truly sustainable? How do natural and synthetic fibres impact our environment? And what role do traditional fibre plants like hemp, jute, or flax play in an environmentally conscious future?
Our exhibition explores these and many other pressing questions. Discover how natural fibres have formed the foundation of clothing and various products for centuries – and how they are once again becoming a key component of sustainable innovation. We examine the production, processing, and environmental impact of different fibres, and highlight how natural fibres are gaining increasing importance in the fashion industry, design, and technology.
What makes our exhibition special?
It is the result of a creative Voluntary Ecological Year (FÖJ) project in which we have put our knowledge and passion for sustainability into practice. We want to show how a respectful approach to nature and the use of natural fibres can help protect the environment and contribute to building a future-oriented society.
Be inspired – for a future where fashion and sustainability go hand in hand. Discover how you can become part of the change!

The exhibition is on display until 10 October 2025 in the greenhouse of the Sondergarten.
