Anna Vinnitskaya never seems to have any problems with technique when things get tough. She is happy to play the most difficult pieces. What’s more, she makes it look easy. A newspaper reporter for the Hamburger Abendblatt once wrote, »It’s as if she wants to take the piano in her arms and give it a cuddle.« He couldn’t have put it more succinctly. Anna’s piano playing is defined by her affection for the instrument and her musical warmth, sensitivity and delicacy. However, she also has a tremendous ability to roll up her sleeves in the tricky bits, fully embrace the challenges and maintain full control of the keys. Born in Russia, Anna is now based in Hamburg and has held a position as a professor of piano at the University of Music and Drama since 2009. In the ProArte’s subscription concert series »Master Pianists«, the virtuoso pianist will play a recital of her favourite pieces ranging from intensely passionate Rachmaninov and Brahms to the magical tonal colours of Scriabin and Ravel.
